(CPV) -
A sanitary vegetable production cooperative was established last November in the Na Hoi commune of Di Thang Village. It will bring jobs to the Tay and Hmong ethnic minority groups, according to the People's Committee of Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province.
This is the first cooperative for the Tay and Hmong people in Lao Cai province. The total chartered capital for the project is 560 million VND.
The 25 member cooperative will come together under the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (Viet GAP) to produce indigenous vegetables such as cabbage, kohlrabi, and beans…
Two major food companies in Hanoi signed a commitment to consume the cooperatives total production.
The goal of the cooperative is to help ethnic minorities in the Bac Ha highlands to utilize the fertile land and temperate climate to produce high quality crops. This will create more jobs and stable incomes for farmers.
